AlishaMy sister Alisha and I are pretty close. We’re only 2 1/2 years apart, and even though we currently live about 1200 miles apart, we talk at least once a week. I thought of her this weekend –  I rode in an old freight elevator that would have given her nightmares. She’s hated elevators for as long as I can remember. I remember being places and having to take the stairs because the elevators bugged her too much. The elevator this weekend made me think random thoughts about her.  Here are five (besides the elevator hatred):

  1. She photographs EVERYTHING.  Especially food.
  2. She is tiny, but thinks she can beat people up.  (I can just hear her now… What do you mean “thinks”?)
  3. Her hair is super thick and grows insanely fast.
  4. She writes cool songs super fast.  (See here, here, here, here…)
  5. She blames me for killing her desire to speak Spanish. She understands almost everything though. (She once said “yo sabo” instead of “yo se” and my cousin and I laughed. Three words. GET. OVER. IT.) She’s actually starting to use Spanish again. (A good thing, considering it’s been at least 10 years since I made the horrible mistake of laughing at her.)

My sister Alisha is totally freaking awesome. And I promise that when she comes to visit, I will NOT make her ride in a freight elevator. Unless she doesn’t come to visit soon. Then all bets are off.

Lex was afraid of elevators forever. He’s finally gotten over it, but for years he’d take the stair while we all rode the elevator. Funny kids!

    Alisha is awesome!

    Maybe it’s a genetic thing…
