My brother Logan used to think he was a cartoon. For awhile he was Pinocchio. Then Aladdin. He finally settled on Simba – that’s right, the LION from the Lion King. He even used to run around on all fours. He was awfully good at it. He would scrunch up his hands so that they were “paws” and would even try to eat like that! Thankfully, he has outgrown the phase. He can even eat with a fork now. (However, he has not lost the ability to quote entire Disney movies, complete with different voices for different characters.)
It’s his 21st birthday today, and he is in Antofagasta, Chile serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He has been on his mission for 23 months and will come home next month on December 11th. I am so excited!!!! Logan is a fantastic example to me of a man who is faithful and hardworking – two essential characteristics for real happiness in this life. It’s so nice that not only is he my brother, but he is also my friend.
